Allen Iverson is an all American professional basketball player for Detroit Pistons. He was the first round draft pick in 1996 to Philadelphia 76ers. Allen averages 27.7 points. In 2000 to 2001 he was the most valuable player and led the 76ers to the finals. Iverson didn’t always play basketball in high school: he played football as quarterback for Bethel High School. After high school he decided to play basketball for Georgetown. He won two Big East Defensive Player of the Year awards. After two years of college he was drafted to the NBA. He played with Philadelphia from 1996 to 2007 but then got traded to Denver Nuggets for three years. Currently he is playing with the Detroit Pistons and will continue to play farther.
